  • Your experience at Eastlake will depend on what you are looking for. If you are looking to learn to live as Jesus did, and bring his all encompassing love for humanity to an earthy realm, then there is no better place to do so.
If you are looking for someone who will blindly "preach and teach" the bible as though it were a literal transcription from the voice of God then you will be wholly unsatisfied.
As Ryan is clear to point out, the bible is a library of books written by man as an interpretation for their personal experience with God and Jesus. If you believe it to be a divine directive, you are bound to be unhappy with the questions and searching that Eastlake embarks on.

The people at Eastlake love others like Jesus did. They accept everyone, like Jesus did.
They won't judge and they embrace everyone. Just like Jesus did.
If you've ever studied the person of Jesus, then it's hard to believe that he would be comfortable in a traditional "Christian" church. But if you love the person that he was, and strive to live as he did, then you have just found your faith home.
Truth be told, I don't think Jesus would be very happy inside a "Christian" church these days, but I do think he'd be pretty pleased by what Ryan has done with this community.

  • This church is the best example of love, modeled after how Jesus loves. A heart for all the broken, the fringe, the outcast, everyone. The Bible is not the end all and be all of following Jesus and being a believer in God and this community incorporates intellectual thoughts, spirituality, science and faith. Thankful for Ryan and the staff for wrestling with hard questions and controversial issues. So refreshing to see a community getting it right. Jesus came to save everyone not the already saved. This is a church for the rest of us.

  • I love the fact that we gather together in love without the need to agree, that at Eastlake you are encouraged to reflect on being a beneficial presence in the world, if what you believe keeps you from that simple task, examine your belief system.
Everyday is a gift, love is the point and we will always make room you at the table.

  • Best church I've ever been too!!! If you want to check out a Church where it's members are people who are dedicated to being a beneficial presence in the world and aren't afraid to dive into the most difficult parts of the human condition and not go along with the masses who are stuck in dogmatic beliefs, this is the place for you. If you are really practicing your faith you know it's about deepening your capacity to love others and let go of anger and other unhelpful emotions, it's a personal journey. The love and support from the engaged and deeply committed members of this Church is unreal. I've been attending for almost two and it's still hard to believe who welcoming and accepting everyone is. They really practice what they preach here! It's so sad that people say don't go here because it's full inclusion. I don't recall reading Jesus not welcoming anyone. Didn't he spend most of his time with those who society rejected? Hmm...

  • This Church is fantastic. The physical embodiment of Christian love, all are welcomed, whether or not you agree with all of their ideas or not.. Teachings are relevant to modern life, with encouragement to engage in our world community. Children's rooms are clean, friendly staff, and age-appropriate.
